2017 Sporting Clay Shoot Raises 58,000 Dollars

On May 20th, 45 teams made up of 134 individuals traveled to The National Shooting Complex to shoot sporting clays for a good cause. Breakfast and lunch were provided to everyone who participated in clay shooting for prizes.

A total of $58,000 was raised, which will benefit Blue Cares programs like the Blue Santa Program, the Blue Cares Scholarship, and Project CJ.

A raffle also took place with numerous gifts to win. The top prize was a golf cart, which went to Ricardo Garza.

Director of Community Outreach and Fundraising, Adriana Valadez expressed her gratitude for everyone involved. “The Sporting Clay Shoot was a great success,” she said. “We are excited to see how many San Antonio area students will benefit through our Scholarship Program for 2018. A special thanks to all our sponsors and participants. Looking forward to next year’s event.”

Blue Cares provides year-round services and assistance to underprivileged, low-income, and at risk children and their families. Through Blue Cares, members of the San Antonio Police Officer’s Association (SAPOA) and the community help these families by volunteering their time and resources.
