Blue Cares works frequently with local governments, small and large businesses, educational institutions, and other non-profits, but we really rely on the support of volunteers – just like you! We encourage you, your business, or your employer to get involved with Blue Cares today and see how you can make a difference in the life of an underprivileged, low-income, and at-risk child and their family.
Right now, we’re looking for volunteers who can help us from October to December to gift-wrap toys that will be collected and then distributed by Blue Santa and his helpers. Blue Santa was created by the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA) in 1976 to help bring holiday happiness to families and children throughout San Antonio. He’s all about bringing hope and joy to families that are struggling to make ends meet during the holidays.
During the month of December, San Antonio police officers, volunteers, and Blue Santa, work hard to deliver needed items to underprivileged kids and their families. All the money raised from SAPOA’s biggest events, the Sporting Clay Shoot and Blue Santa Golf Tournament, goes to Blue Cares to fund our Blue Santa project.
