Blue Cares is happy to announce that San Antonio youth can now apply for the 2018 Blue Cares Scholarship!
Earlier this year, 16 students were awarded the Blue Cares Scholarship. One student took the top prize of $2,500. A reception was held for the recipients and their families at The Barn Door.
The Blue Cares Scholarship was created in memory of San Antonio Police Officer Patricia Calderon, who was killed in the line of duty on December 27th, 1988. She was the first female SAPD officer to pay the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and had only served five years in the department.
